Basic Mild Salsa - Similar to more mild resaurant salsas
put undrained can of whole tomatoes in blender
drain Ro-Tel tomatoes, then add to blender
Peel & cut up onion, add to blender
Peel & mince garlic, add to blender
add cilantro (minus stems) to blender
add cumin, salt, splenda
Mix it all in the blender. Run blender until everything is blended to the consistency you like - generally, I watch until I see the onion pieces the size I like, and the cilantro ground down.
chopping the cilantro in a small food processor or chopper beforehand makes the blending a bit quicker.
Original Recepie called for 1 Jalapeno - can be added for zing. Watch Cumin- too much will make it BROWN and unpleasant. Same for Garlic - 3 cloves goes much farther than expected because it's raw.
